COFFEE DAY

THANKS a lot to the kind friends and visitors who yesterday came to my "Coffee Day" event at Taste of Okinawa! It has been a personal challenge to prepare unusual dishes - pasta and rice with coffee - and do my little part to promote a bean/drink/flavour that I really love. It has been interesting to see some guest not trusting the 'strange' match pasta/rice+coffee powder and, on the other side, different guests discovering, happily surprised, a beautiful, exciting, combination.

I could also enjoy sharing my passion for Italian espresso, for South-American beans and, above all, for Vietnamese robusta coffee. Thanks also to the gentle souls, coffee-lovers, that bought some of my "Europa Vintage Okinawa" collection of European coffee goods. Yesterday, even if the virus refrained some people to go to events like mine, I enjoyed very much the situation.

A special ARIGATOu to the gentle owner of Taste of Okinawa,

Tomoaki Goeku, for renting me, once more, his fantastic space. A DANKE SCHON to the unique, new 'beer guy' in town,

Wolfram Opitz, for providing the most amazing coffee-beer (Wolfbrau) and to his gentle wife for her fantastic coffee (Wolfbrau too). Last but not least, a super-GRAZIE MILLE to my good friend Gino Goya, once again my life buoy in the emergency situations (yesterday: miscalculation of eggs + priceless third hand to make extra tagliatelle; and taxi driver too!). Some guest asked me if I'll hold a similar event next year... What can I say? I hope so!

LASAGNE A GO-GO

GRAZIE MILLE to all the very nice people that yesterday came to my lasagne (and other stuff) cooking class! It has been a pleasure cooking for you and considering the amount of leftovers (almost zero) it looks like you enjoyed the situation... As always, a SUPER-ARIGATOu to Tomo-san, the owner of Taste of Okinawa, for letting me/us use his wonderful space! And thanks to the participants whose pictures I will steal quite soon for my blog. POTATOES FOR EVERYBODY!

to all the nice participants of yesterday's gnocchi cooking class at Taste of Okinawa, it has ben fun and a pleasure transform almost four kilos of potatoes in yummy gnocchi together! 

Gorgonzola sauce, as usual, the number one on the dance floor. We struggled with the inner humidity of potatoes choking it with flour until the last drop... Considering the zero leftovers I guess you guys liked what we cooked, and that makes me very happy.

Talking of happiness: Happy New Year!

Grazie mille, thanks a lot, muito obrigado, どうもありがとうございます to the seven Stars that today came to my second (and last, at least for a period) gnocchi cooking class at Taste of Okinawa! As usually it has been fun and a pleasure meeting new hungry friends. Considering the zero leftovers, I guess they enjoyed the dishes. Thanks also for letting me steal your best photos and for modelling. Arigatissimo, once more, to the dears Tomo-san and Rina-san of Taste of Okinawa for lending me their wonderful space!
